Description
The Senior Dealer Development is responsible for leading the strategic, financial, and operational management of GM's dealer network in Chile. The position ensures that dealers operate with sustainable profitability, strong customer focus, and alignment with GM's commercial and network strategy.
The role combines dealer performance management, financial analysis, network planning, business case development, and stakeholder leadership. It is distinguished by its direct influence on dealer viability, network coverage, customer experience, and the execution of strategic initiatives across the Chilean market.
Major expected results include:
- Improve dealer profitability and operational performance through fact-based analysis and structured action plans.
- Maintain a healthy, efficient, and sustainable dealer network aligned with GM's business strategy.
- Provide high-quality recommendations for network decisions, dealer investments, restructurings, exits, and new opportunities.
- Strengthen dealer relationships and ensure effective alignment between GM and dealer principals.
- Anticipate and manage business, financial, operational, and customer-related risks affecting the network.
Dealer Network Strategy and Performance : Lead the strategic evaluation of the dealer network in Chile; monitor market coverage, capacity, facility footprint, sales and aftersales performance, and dealer sustainability; identify gaps and define recommendations to improve network effectiveness and profitability.
Dealer Financial Management : Analyze dealer financial information, profitability, liquidity, working capital, and key operating indicators; assess financial risks; challenge results with dealers; develop improvement plans; and follow up on agreed actions and performance commitments. Business Cases and Network Restructuring : Develop fact-based business cases for dealer investments, restructurings, ownership or operating model changes, points of sale, market coverage, and other network decisions; evaluate alternatives, quantify impacts, and present recommendations to leadership.
Dealer Relationship and Governance: Manage senior-level relationships with dealer principals and key stakeholders; lead strategic reviews and governance forums; align GM and dealer priorities; coordinate cross-functional inputs; and ensure timely communication and execution of commitments. Lead strategic committees.
Dealer Network Contractual Management : Manage the administration and governance of contracts with dealers and parts distributors, ensuring compliance with commercial, operational, financial, and legal terms; coordinate renewals, amendments, performance obligations, documentation, and issue resolution with internal stakeholders and counterparties, while maintaining accurate records and identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
Knowledge / Education
- Bachelor's degree in Commercial Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, dealer profitability, cash flow, working capital, and business performance indicators.
- Knowledge of automotive retail, dealer network operations, sales, aftersales, parts, and customer experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of commercial planning, business case development, negotiation, and organizational change.
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in dealer development, automotive retail, commercial operations, finance, consulting, or a related business environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and leading performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience evaluating financial information and translating analysis into practical business recommendations.
- Experience with organizational restructuring, network changes, or critical business/customer cases is preferred.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
